History

The basis of the Ethics Group came from the frustrating situation of lack of ethics in the education. Pontus Enander, the founder of the Ethics Group, had studied ethics as a subject at Teologen in Lund before he began his studies at LUSEM. There the theoretical ethics was combined with practical case discussions, which from the beginning started out from one’s own gut feeling. When it had been ventilated the theory could be applied to the current issue. At LUSEM the focus was on the theoretical part, something of which it was hard to grasp if you had not thought of your own opinion. Pontus started autumn 2006 what subsequently became the Ethics Group. Over time the ways of working have been developed but the basic idea is still that wise decisions require a good gut feeling and that is something that needs to be practiced.
