Ansvarig för interna relationer, styrelsen

As Head of Internal Relations, you will be part of the Board of LundaEkonomerna. Together with the other board members you will be responsible for the strategic perspective and future outlook of the Student Union as a whole. This includes discussing relevant and upcoming issues as well as taking own initiatives to develop LundaEkonomerna going forward. Your specific responsibility includes handling internal sources of information and the LundaEkonomerna Committee (Kollegiet), where all committee heads and project leaders are included.

2. What are the main lines of work?

The tasks are divided between two areas, one area being the general and ongoing work as a board member and the other area being Head of Internal Relations. As a board member you will be working with more general questions concerning the entire Union, both on your own initiative and together with the other board members. This work also includes the completion of goals for the year, which you and the other board members have set up. Furthermore you will act as a point of reference to the committees within the Union, discussing ideas and helping out when needed. Lastly you will be putting time into representing LundaEkonomerna together with the other board members on different events.

The other part as Head of Internal Relations, mainly involves the work associated around the LundaEkonomerna Committee (Kollegiet). You will be responsible for planning monthly meetings and other activities throughout the semesters. The biggest event to plan will be the “Skiftesresa” where the old and new heads and project leaders are invited to take part in discussions and social activities during a weekend in May. In addition you will be overlooking the internal information, making sure that relevant information is up to date and properly structured.

3. Timeframe: How much time do you put down every week? More or less on some weeks?

The time frame varies somewhat during the year, with an average of a little less than 20 hours per week. Some of the time will be fix, such as weekly board meetings and activities with the LundaEkonomerna Committee. However most of the time put into preparation and such, is disposable according to own preferences. The heaviest workload is during the start-up phase at the beginning of the autumn term, and during the “Skiftesresa” in May.

4. What do you believe are the main personal   characteristics needed for the post?

Since the working environment is constantly changing, it is important that you enjoy a high tempo with more than one thing happening at the same time. You need to be organized and able to plan your time well, given that you will be holding meetings and activities, and most likely will be studying full time on the side. Taking your own initiatives and being able to work in a group is also necessary.

5. Other information worth knowing?

As Head of Internal Relations and as a board member of LundaEkonomerna you will be working with a lot of driven and energizing people. You will have a great year where you will come in close contact with students within the Union as well as with collaborating companies. It will also be a year where you get to develop managerial and interpersonal skills that will be of great help in the future. And most important of all, it will be a year with lots of fun!
