Are you up for creating a valuable impact on LundaEkonomernas work on internationalization?

About the International Committee

The mission of the international committee is to some extent: the executive force behind the international affairs manager. At LundaEkonomerna we are sharing the vision of LUSEM of becoming a leading international institution and we want to do our share.

The international committee is an ambitious and exciting new project that will be the next step in the internationalization work of LundaEkonomerna. The committee lays upon four core foundations:

  1. Cultural exchange external: We are part of IWCO an international network of 25 business schools, each of the latter hosts one week to promote cultural exchange where two members of each school can attend for free. Our week is usually hosted in spring and hosts roughly 25 – 30 international students.

  1. Cultural exchange internal: We are promoting cultural exchange at LUSEM by integrating roughly 200 exchange students per semester through buddy programs that introduce them to the Swedish student life and culture.

  1. Intercultural leadership: We will host two seminars and workshops per semester that focus on leadership skills for teams of different cultural backgrounds and intercultural competencies. We aim to increase intercultural understanding to help both our Swedish and international members to effectively collaborate in school projects, our committees, and their future careers

  1. International Engagement Initiative: We are decreasing the barriers of engagement for activities that promote intercultural exchange in the areas: social events, cultural leadership, intercultural competencies, cultural awareness. We are doing so by creating engagement opportunities that do not require an application process, but just the willingness and drive to promote cultural activities.

About the Project Leader role

The role of the Project leader in this new venture is a challenging and exciting task. First and foremost, the tasks at hand include the creation of a committee and enabling a smooth start. As this committee is a new project, an open and creative mindset coupled with a structured way of working is a strong merit. The Project Leader will work in close collaboration with the International Affairs Manager, thus good communication skills are desired. The role will require roughly 10 hours per week, and thus requires good time management skills.

Previous experience of working in an international setting is a merit, but NOT A REQUIREMENT.
